Famerlo is a family logistics assistant that helps busy parents manage their children's activities, schedules, and daily life. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

What data does Famerlo collect?
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. We use your email to sign you in (via a magic link — no passwords stored) and to send you notifications if you choose to receive them.
Family data
The core of Famerlo is managing your family's activities and schedules. This includes the information you share through conversation: children's names and ages, activities, events, schedules, reminders, and related notes. You control what you share — Famerlo only knows what you tell it.
Conversations
Your chat conversations with the Famerlo AI assistant are stored so you can continue where you left off. These conversations are part of your family data and are encrypted at rest (see "How is my data protected?" below).
Attachments
You can share files with Famerlo — such as photos of activity schedules, school letters, or event flyers. These are stored as part of your family data and are encrypted at rest.
How does Famerlo use my data?
Your data is used to:
- Manage your family's activities, events, and schedules
- Send you reminders and notifications (if you opt in)
- Sync events with your connected calendars (if you choose to connect one)
- Improve Famerlo's AI responses within your family context
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not show you advertisements.
How does the AI work with my data?
Famerlo uses an AI assistant (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to understand your messages and manage your family data. When you send a message, the relevant context from your family (activities, events, etc.) is sent to the AI for processing.
AI processing takes place on servers within the European Union. Your data is not used by Anthropic to train their models — Famerlo uses a dedicated enterprise inference service with data isolation guarantees.
Calendar integration
Famerlo can connect to your personal calendar (Google Calendar, Outlook, or others) to sync family events. Calendar integration is entirely optional — Famerlo works fully without it.
If you choose to connect a calendar:
- Famerlo can create, update, and delete family events in your calendar on your behalf.
- Famerlo can read your calendar events to detect scheduling conflicts.
- Famerlo can list your available calendars so you can choose which one to use.
You can disconnect your calendar at any time. When you disconnect, Famerlo stops syncing new events. Events already in your external calendar remain there — you can delete them from your calendar directly.

How is my data protected?
- Encryption at rest: All family data is encrypted using AES-256, a bank-grade encryption standard. Each family's data is encrypted with its own unique key.
- Encryption in transit: All communication between your browser and Famerlo is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS).
- EU hosting: Your data is stored on servers in Scandinavia (Microsoft Azure, North Europe region). Your data never leaves the EU.
- No passwords: Famerlo uses magic link authentication — we never store passwords, so they can't be stolen.
Who has access to my data?
Your family data is private. Only members of your family (people you invite to your Famerlo family) can see it.
We share data with these service providers, who process it on our behalf:
- Microsoft Azure (Ireland / Scandinavia) — cloud hosting and data storage
- AWS Bedrock (EU region) — AI inference (processing your messages)
We do not share your data with anyone else, unless required by law.
Your rights
Famerlo is based in Denmark and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to:
- Access — Download a copy of all data Famerlo holds about you and your family, directly from the app. Go to Preferences and choose Download. The download is in a machine-readable format.
- Correction — Correct any inaccurate information yourself through conversation with Famerlo, or contact us.
- Deletion — Delete your account and all associated family data directly from the app. Go to Preferences and choose Delete Account.
- Portability — The data download (see Access above) is in a machine-readable format, so you can take your data with you.
- Revoke calendar access — Disconnect your calendar at any time, either from within Famerlo or from your calendar provider's settings.
- Withdraw consent — You can stop using Famerlo at any time and delete your account from Preferences.

Children's data
Famerlo is designed for parents to manage their children's activities. Children's names, ages, and activity information are entered by parents and stored as part of the family data. Children do not have their own Famerlo accounts and do not interact with Famerlo directly.
Cookies
The Famerlo app (famerlo.app) uses a session token stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. This is not a tracking cookie — it is only used for authentication.
This website (famerlo.com) does not use cookies or any tracking technology.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the Famerlo app. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
